Exhibitors at the 28th Rwanda International Trade Fair Urge Rwandans to Explore the Innovation-Filled Event
The 28th edition of the Rwanda International Trade Fair was officially launched this Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Gikondo Expo Grounds in Kigali. Organized by the Private Sector Federation (PSF) in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade and Industry, this year’s exhibition promises innovation and diversity.
This long-standing annual event has grown in both scope and impact. The 2025 edition features a notable increase in participation from both local industries and international countries, introducing a wave of innovative products and technologies. Among the standout participants are manufacturers, artisans, and representatives from 19 countries—two more than the 2024 edition.

One of the key attractions at this year’s fair is H-Q Aqua Plastic Ltd, a Rwandan company specializing in durable construction materials. Jean Bosco Mungurareba, the company’s founder, showcased wood plastic composite (WPC) wall panels—a revolutionary material that resembles wood planks and can be used on walls and ceilings. These panels stand out not only for their aesthetic appeal but also for their durability, with some being strong enough to be used as flooring.
“These panels we are exhibiting can replace traditional cement and sand on walls. They require no paint and don’t fade over time,” said Mungurareba. “They’re waterproof, resistant to humidity, and offer a 30-year guarantee. Many visitors are surprised to learn that such products are manufactured locally.”
Mungurareba encouraged Rwandans to embrace locally made solutions, emphasizing the importance of self-reliance and national pride: “Supporting local industries is key to building a self-sustaining economy. Let us value what we produce, because homegrown innovations are often the most resilient.”
The PSF expects this year’s trade fair to attract between 250,000 and 300,000 visitors, a sign of its growing importance in promoting industrial development and regional commerce.
